The Winter Ball organised by the UBB Student Government took place on 20 January 2024. During the ceremony, awards and StudentPRO statuettes were presented in the categories:

• Best Student Project,
• Student Athlete / Sports Organisation,
• Best Scientific Project,
• Special Award: 'ProJuvenes',
• Best Student Award for the person who scored the highest number of points this year when applying for the Rector's scholarship.

Michał Janus from the Inter-disciplinary Student Research Group “Engineer of XXI Century”, a student field of study: Automation and Robotics, received the StudentPRO statuette in the Best Scientific Project category! In the competition, he presented his work entitled: "CO2 laser plotter", whose supervisor is Dr Jacek Rysiński.

The work was presented during the International Competition, winning: XIV ROBOTIC ARENA'2023 - 1st place, Robotic Tournament'2023 - 2nd place.
