Data: 25.05.2025 Kategoria: Wydarzenia

During the Science Picnic held on May 25th in Park Słowackiego in Bielsko-Biała, as part of the 25th Jubilee Beskid Festival of Science and Art, we simply couldn’t miss the opportunity to take part.

Members of our student research group prepared a wide range of stands that attracted both the youngest visitors and those interested in modern technology and automation. Among the topics presented were:

  • Mini sumo robots – exciting battles between autonomous machines drew large crowds and sparked great interest among children and teenagers;

  • Laser photo engraving using a CO₂ laser – demonstrations of precise image reproduction on materials such as wood or glass;

  • Autonomous MiR mobile robot – a presentation of modern internal transport solutions;

  • Industrial robots – showcasing their applications in advanced production lines;

  • 3D printing – additive manufacturing technologies in practice, from concept to finished part;

  • Playing tic-tac-toe with a SCARA robot – a logical game using a robotic arm that demonstrated practical aspects of programming and automation;

  • The world of analog and digital electronics – a presentation of electronic circuits, oscillators, and real-time signal measurements using oscilloscopes.

Our members not only demonstrated modern engineering solutions, but also engaged with visitors, shared knowledge, and encouraged young people to explore their technical interests. Their commitment, professionalism, and passion significantly contributed to the high educational value of the entire event.

The participation of the “Engineer of the 21st Century” Student Research Group in the Science Picnic is yet another proof that WBMiI students are not only capable of creating innovative projects, but also of sharing them with the public in an engaging and accessible way.
