On January 30, 2025, the international doctoral conference Novus Scientia 2025 was held at the Technical University of Košice, serving as a key forum for knowledge exchange, presentation of research findings, and fostering collaboration between academic institutions. The event gathered young researchers from various disciplines, including students, doctoral candidates, and faculty members from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science (WBMiI), who presented their research within thematic sessions.
Among the presented papers were two talks by Maksymilian Maślanka. He discussed the Impact of Lighting Conditions on Vision Inspection Systems: Analysis, Cost Estimation, and Operational Overview of Cognex Cameras). Additionally, he explored The Potential of 4D Printing in Designing Adaptive Medical Implants. Meanwhile, Damian Pytka focused on robotics, presenting A Case Study on Improvements for Sumo Robotics Competitions.
The conference was also attended by representatives of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, including Dean Jacek Pezda, Vice-Dean Jacek Rysiński, Prof. Izabella Rajzer, and Dr. Eng. Daniel Jancarczyk. The deans held discussions with Vice-Dean Prof. Jan Slota from the Technical University of Košice regarding potential joint scientific research projects and student exchange programs.
A special highlight of the event was the award for the best presentation, which was granted to M.Sc. Eng. Damian Pytka. This prestigious recognition confirms the high quality of research conducted at the faculty and the commitment of doctoral candidates to advancing science and technology.
Participation in Novus Scientia 2025 not only allowed young researchers to present their work but also provided a valuable platform for establishing academic connections and initiating new research projects, contributing to the further development of scientific research at the faculty.
