On 8 December 2023, the XIII Inter University Conference of Students, PhD Students and Young Scientists “Engineer of XXI Century” was held. The range of topics covered a wide range of issues from computer science, electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, transport, automation and robotics, production engineering and others.
Year after year, the conference is gaining more and more recognition among the scientific and industrial community. Thanks to the support of sponsors, partners and the involvement of young researchers, it becomes an arena for the presentation of innovative ideas, inspiring presentations and interesting discussions.
Lectures, workshops and training sessions were held in several rooms simultaneously, and in the foyer, conference participants presented their work in a poster session. At the same time, there were demonstrations by companies supporting the Inter-disciplinary Student Research Group “Engineer of XXI Century”. Those who were unable to attend the conference directly were able to observe the proceedings as part of an online broadcast, via the university's websites and social networks.
The conference was inaugurated with an interdisciplinary lecture entitled: Leonardo da Vinci the engineer and artist - an inspiration for contemporaries, which was given by the Rector, Professor Jacek Nowakowski, and the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Ernest Zawada.
Other events also took place during the conference, e.g. the new FlexSim Simulation Software production visualisation systems laboratory was opened. In addition, the latest Kawasaki Cobot was presented in the main hall. The presentation was conducted by ASTOR employees assisted by students of the Inter-disciplinary Student Research Group “Engineer of XXI Century”. This was one of the first presentations in Poland!
During the "Engineer of the 21st Century" conference, as in previous editions, competitions were held:
