A new innovative educational workstation has been developed in the laboratories of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science – this time in the field of mechatronics. The project was fully designed and implemented by members of the Student Research Group “Engineer of the 21st Century” in collaboration with AGAMON – a company specializing in industrial automation and electronics.
The workstation is equipped with a Siemens S7-1200 PLC controller and modern RFID readers from Balluff, enabling fast and precise identification and data transmission. The students designed and launched the laboratory station, developing software based on example applications available for S7-1200/1500 controllers, and implemented Balluff function blocks for communication with the RFID readers.
The workstation enables:
learning how to configure and program PLC controllers on a real-world setup,
working with Balluff RFID technology used in modern production lines,
implementing projects based on real industrial scenarios.
We congratulate the students on their professionalism and commitment.
We also thank AGAMON for their openness to collaboration and valuable technical support.
